Chris Rose's Long-Tailed Ducks
This year, I was again honoured to join the line-up of celebrities and presenters for Christmas and Hogmanay at Scotland's premium Grant Arms Wildlife Hotel in the Cairngorms National Park. With 2 presentations to deliver and several tours for guests to lead, it was a busy, but fun time.
The first presentation was on Digiscoping, with emphasis on the excellent Swarovski modular ATX / STX scope system (mentioned elsewhere in my blog), showing my work from Africa and Europe.
Next up was a set of films and images from one of my favourite destinations in Africa: Uganda. Fast emerging as the THE goto destination to see over 1000 species of birds and plentiful mammals, both large and small, it is an easy going and friendly country with skilful guides - I will be running my first trip there for guests this year Uganda September 2020
Finally, friend and world-renowned Wildlife artist Chris demonstrated his technique with the painting of Long-tailed Ducks; completed in just 90 minutes in front of an audience of over 85 people.
Ever the showman, the final moments of painting created an enthusiastic reaction with shouts of amazement from the audience.
I edited the film together from a simple time-lapse and a collection of film clips shot with my iPhone.
