Winter Workshops 2017

A cold winter - but not cold enough for Bears in Central Europe apparently.

With temperatures only in single digits of celsius below zero, many Bears are still active in Central Europe when they would normally be hibernating. The fresh print picture below confirmed activity on 23rd December. The end of ‘Bear season’ is normally 30th October.

Taken shortly afterwards, the Bison was clearly thriving nearby in the fresh snow along with Lynx and Elk, and further afield. Wolves. evidenced by further prints in the snow.

The whole trip was part of the reconnaissance of a remote region of Poland for potential workshops in 2017.

Looking for Bears, Wolves, Lynx, Elk and other animals normally associated with colder regions, the trip will combine wildlife photography with full training on Adobe Lightroom and other post-production tools, based on the recent and very popular ‘Wildlife and Process’ workshop in Scotland with Andy Howard.
